Privacy Policy — Diane Import Extension
Last updated: 2026-04-24
This policy describes the data accessed by the Diane Import browser extension (the "Extension"), how it is used and what is stored. It complements the general Diane privacy policy available at www.diane.estate/privacy.
1. What the Extension does
The Extension lets real-estate agents import a property listing viewed on a third-party website (Leboncoin, SeLoger, Zillow, Barnes, etc.) into their Diane account in one click. When the user clicks the Extension icon on a listing page, the Extension extracts public information from the active page (title, price, surface, description, photo URLs) and sends it to the Diane backend (https://www.diane.estate) to create a new listing in the user's workspace.
2. Data the Extension accesses
The Extension only accesses the following data, and only when the user explicitly triggers an import:
- Active page content: title, price, surface, description, features and photo URLs of the listing currently viewed.
- Photo URLs hosted on third-party CDNs: the Extension downloads these images to forward them to the Diane backend, which allows it to bypass CORS restrictions applied by some real-estate portals.
The Extension accesses no data until the user clicks its icon. It does not track browsing history, mouse movement or keystrokes, and collects no telemetry.
3. Authentication
The Extension uses the browser's existing session cookies to authenticate the user with the Diane backend. It does not read, store or transmit any password, token, credential or security question.
4. Local storage
The Extension stores exactly one piece of data locally: the user's language preference (French or English), via the chrome.storage.local API. No extracted page data, personal information or credentials are retained by the Extension.
5. Data sharing and sale
Data extracted from the active page is sent only to the Diane backend (https://www.diane.estate) for the sole purpose of creating a listing in the user's account. This data:
- is never sold to third parties;
- is never transferred to third parties outside Diane's infrastructure;
- is never used for purposes unrelated to the Extension's single purpose (creating a listing);
- is never used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
6. Permissions requested
activeTab: reads the active tab's content only after the user clicks the Extension icon.scripting: injects an extraction script into the active page to collect relevant listing fields.storage: stores the user's language preference.host_permissions(https://www.diane.estate/*and<all_urls>): enables communication with the Diane backend and downloading of photos hosted on third-party CDNs.
7. Data retention
Data sent to the Diane backend (imported listing information and photos) is retained in accordance with the general Diane privacy policy available at www.diane.estate/privacy. Users can delete their listings from their account at any time.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR, users have the right to access, correct, delete, object to the processing of, and port their data. These rights can be exercised from the Diane account or by writing to [email protected].
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the Extension or legal obligations. The last-updated date appears at the top of this document. Material changes will be notified to users through the Extension interface or by email.
